Allergies and Dietary Information

An allergic reaction can have serious consequences for young children, so at Little Adventurers we have robust procedures in order to minimise the risks.

Having a child start at an education setting can be a stressful time for parents, but particularly if they suffer from allergies. Every child in our care will have a detailed allergy plan and we have excellent links with health professionals in the community to better support parents who have a child with allergies.

Our tasty and nutritious menu caters for the needs of every child and this is because we work in partnership with parents, a nutritional expert and of course your child! Every child is unique and by enjoying healthy options that work around their needs they will be much better prepared to learn, develop and enjoy daily routines!

Please do not hesitate to email us at enquiries@littleadventurersdaynursery.co.uk if you have any queries or would like some advice on how we can further support children with allergies.

Ensuring a positive and welcoming experience every meal time!

Following recommendations by the Advisory Panel on Food and Nutrition in the Early Years and the Tickell review of the Early Years Foundation Stage, the School Food Trust has launched new national, voluntary guidelines for nutrition in early years settings.

As part of the guidelines, a voluntary code of practice has also been launched by the School Food Trust, which encourages settings to consider whether they provide children with a positive and welcoming eating environment and to consult with children and their families about the food they offer. We do exactly this!

At Little Adventurers, we are passionate about nutrition and when offering meals and snacks to your child our in house chef considers, portion sizes, sample menus and recipes, advice on tackling fussy eating and involving children in food and cooking activities.

We are always happy to discuss any dietary requirements and meet the needs of every child and their family.

Breastfeeding Support

A message from Abbey (Owner)

After having my own children and returning to work as an Early Years Primary Teacher, I found little support in day care as a breastfeeding mum. It is my mission to support families during this key transition phase.

We are here to help you every step of the way with our on site breastfeeding expert and fully qualified midwife. She will work with you to create a support plan as part of our excellent transition into starting a wonderful journey at Little Adventurers.

To book a free of charge breastfeeding or dietary support session as part of your child's settle in programme, just drop us an email at enquiries@littleadventurersdaynursery.co.uk and we will be in touch with a date and time that is convenient to you. We have had many breast fed babies settle and continue to gain all of the nutrician from their mums milk. We call it 'gold dust' here at Little Adventurers and have specially trained staff who can support with continuing your breastfeeding journey as your child begins their journey with us.
